Editing Process

My editing process goes like this:

Round 1:

I will read your manuscript from start to finish and point out any glaring grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors. I will also point out any format errors (ie: paragraph structure).

Round 2:

The second read through will help me find any previously missed spelling or grammatical errors, as well as inconsistencies or continuity errors. This is also where I will make sure your story is factual, or historically accurate. This may require some research on my part.

Round 3:

The final read through helps me ensure that your writing has good flow, and that the story is cohesive. On rare occasions I will find errors previously missed.

Formatting

Fee: $30 +

varies depending on size of document.

Some publishers require their submissions be formatted to a specific style. Should you require your work to be formatted, I can do the formatting for you. All I will require is the specific style sheet for your publisher. Or in the case of essays, the specific essay format you are working with.

Editing Service

Fee: $0.01 / word.

ex: 25,000 wds = $250

I will do my best to work within the time frame you require. The time frame will be agreed upon before the contract is signed. The time frame will be part of the contract. Please be aware that there will be times when an editing job requires more work than initially thought. In these cases, the time frame may need to be adjusted.

I am not responsible for any formatting required by your publisher. My services are strictly limited to the editing process, or proofreading. Formatting may be done at an additional cost.
